Game - The Italo-Greek War (Continued) Feb I 1941 Turn - Italian Offensive - 3 Mountain divsions attack Greek and British divisions/brigades with 6 squadrons of fighters and fighter/bombers. Die-roll 3 on a 1:1 ratio attack - result AR (attacker retreats), however, had to retreat 3 hexes to avoid ZOC (zone of control) by other Greek units, and stacking limits by its own units. The Italian occupation of Greece by one unit has now ben quashed. Greek Phase - Joint Greek/British strategic bombing raid by three squadrons on Albanian coast road - result 'Hit'. Yugoslav Preparation (Yugoslavia is still neutral) - Cities of Beograd and Uzice to be fortified - engineers move in, Beograd has also been sent another division to protect it. - A 1-6 brigade, 2-6 artillary regiment and a 1-8 anti-aitcraft battalion on its way to Sarjavo, which at the moment is undefended. - Zagreb is well defended with two divisions, artillary and an anti-aircraft battery. Offensive - British and Greek tank regiment and infantry divisions attacked by 3 Panzer divisions at Larissa, die-roll '1' on a 2:1 ratio, attacker retreats leaving Larissa undefended. - British units attacked south of Larissa, result (HX - half exchange), two Brtish AA batteries lost, a 2-6 infantry brigade survives (British Commonwealth) Hungarian Offensive - Further occupation of Northern Yugoslavia (the Baranja and the Backa in north eastern Yugoslavia). Greek Turn - Greeks reoccupy Larissa after it was vacated by retreating Panzer divisions. - Greeks also form a secondary defensive line west of Volos, there is a fort south-west of Volos which should help the defence of, latterly, Athens itself. | Further occupation of Northern Yugoslavia by hostile Hungarian forces (the Baranja and the Backa in north eastern Yugoslavia). |

Offensive - Ground offensive in Greece imparts heavy toll on Greek defenders: 3 divisions, 2 brigades and 5 regiments lost. German losses include SS motorized infantry division, a 5-8 mountain division and an 8-6 infantry. Plus one seige artillary (2-1-10) and one artillary regiment (1-2-8). Not too bad considering gains in mainland Greece. - In the north the Axis continues to infiltrate Yugoslavia pregressing towards Beograd. The Italians contiunue to enter from the north-west. Apr II 1941 Turn - Greek Offensive - British and Commonwealth reinforcements arrive to help defend Athens, which is still under strength. Athens is further strengthened in Movement Phase with two extra divisions and support. - Three Axis formations attacked, two German and one Italian. Largely unsuccessful, resulting in retreats (in a 1:1 ratio) and the loss of a 3-8 light infantry division and one 1-2-6 artlillary brigade (both to the Italians on the south western coast of Albania) Victory Points Axis Forces are now in the advantage with 113 VP's to 94 for the first time in the game. | |

Movement Phase - Greek divisions move to enclose Italian Forces in western Greece, and to block the road south to Patrai in the Peloponese to prevent more Axis forces using this route to attack Athens. One German 11-10 Panzer division and supporting artillary regiment is in the Peloponese 5 hexes from Athens, however, they are out of supply. - No Greek offensive on this turn.
