Game
at set-up
|
This is the game at set-up which shows that it is counter-intensive to such an extent that two corps marker cards (top left) are used (one for the Axis and one for the Allies) to display the 'overflow' and corps marker tiles placed in the hexes they occupy. |
Airfields
on Turn 2 (May II 1940)
|
The illustration shows six newly constructed airfields in forward positions as the aircraft ranges are very limited. Aircraft (Fighters, Bombers and Dive bombers) play a crital role in the 'blitzkreig' war. The addition of their attack strength is critical in attacing fortified positions like the Maginot Line etc. Note also the corps markers, two French (VII and VIII) and one Axis (VIII), avoiding the clutter of large ) formations |
The
French/Swiss Border
|
One hypothetical variation in the game is for Switzerland (red tiles) to be attacked by Axis forces. The blue tiles are French. |
Paris
|
The capital, showing and array of heavy anti-aircraft defences. Paris will not be attacked as it will be declared an 'open city'. (note also corps marker XXX III to top right). British aircraft (mainly bombers, are stationed on the approaches to Paris, whist the French Air Force is stationed to the south) |
